Here Comes The Big One

The day of reckoning is almost upon us.  Captain America: Civil War opens in America this weekend.  Critics are frothing at the mouth over this one.  It’s already got a 95% on Rotten Tomatoes and it’s being called the greatest comic book movie ever made.   I can’t wait to find out if that is just fanboy hyperbole.  Some viewers are saying that the three Captain America movies constitute the greatest superhero trilogy of all.  That, I already know is not fanboy hyperbole.  This third film would have to suck vulture…

Ouch, Shane Who?

Surprise, kids!!!  Jon Favreau has returned to Marvel studios, not as the butt-hurt prodigal son, but rather as the triumphant director of Disney’s critical and box office smash hit, The Jungle Book.  Huzzah!  Group hugs! And just like that, Robert Downey Jr. wants to make another Iron-Man movie.  I suppose that’s praise for the working relationship that RDJ and Jon have established.  Either that or a stinging indictment of Shane Black.     Whichever it is , I believe it’s time for the happy dance.
