Circle The Hard-Ons

Let’s get one thing straight, right up front, media critics are, for the most part, cunts.  The professionals are mostly just frustrated wannabe screenwriters or, even worse, directors.  They want to be in the business so bad they can taste it.  The other half, the fanboys (hello, that’s me) spend their time bitching about how “Blah-Blah-Blah is not the movie I would have made.”  So, understand, they have all been sharpening their pens and buffing their hard-ons, waiting for Marvel to stumble.  At long last, the Marvel Netflix series, Iron…

Marvel Update

Well… If you’re like me, there were a couple of bits of disappointing news in the world of the MCU this week. I’ll be brief, or as brief as a verbose Kittenn such as myself can be. So here we go. First, my heartfelt dream of seeing Katee Sackhoff don the red, blue and gold of Captain Marvel was pretty much dashed at the announcement at SDCC that Brie Larson had indeed been cast in the role. Who knows? Maybe I’m wrong. She might be perfect for the role. And…

SDCC Special: Welcome to the Trailer Park

As is usual during San Diego Comic Con, every studio and their grandmothers puts out trailers for movies and television shows. This year is no exception. And there are about a million of them. Or two. I’m not sure. But there’s a lot. But I thought it’d be nice – and maybe the start of an annual tradition – to showcase some of these trailers and give my impressions of what we should expect to see in the coming twelve months or so. To start, I’m going to admit that this…

I just fell in love with Hayley Atwell… again

As I mentioned before in another post, ABC cancelled Agent Carter.   However, if the fans… AND the stars of the show, get their way, there just might be a Season Three. Recently, there was a petition circulating that at last count had over 115K signatures. And Hayley Atwell, who’s already committed to her new series Conviction, recently told attendees at MegaCon in Orlando that she would do “whatever it takes” to bring Agent Margaret Carter back for another season, stating she might even “shoot on the weekends” during production of Conviction.   Dominic Cooper…

I Know My Value – a Postmortem

In the past couple of weeks, RT has been after me to write my promised follow-up to the Supergirl article, regarding the ABC series Agent Carter. I had told him that once I’d finished watching all of the episodes of the former, I’d work on an article for the latter, telling you why you should be watching this show. Now I have the task of telling you why you should have watched this show. Agent Carter was cancelled by ABC this week. There were hints that this would happen. First,…

Gentlemen, Start Your Hard-Ons.

It’s official, my wife is going to leave me for Frank Castle. Netflix announced today that they are ordering a Punisher series from Marvel.  Best birthday present my wife could have gotten.  This is going to be amazing TV.  I’m more excited about this than I am about the Iron-Fist series currently filming at Netflix.  If you haven’t seen Jon Bernthal’s gripping performance as the Punisher in DareDevil: Season II, then get off the internet and go watch it.  Now.  Sheesh.

My Wife is Leaving me for Frank Castle. I Can’t Tell You Why Because Spoilers…

Curse you Netflix!  I always thought if my wife left me for a celebrity it would be for Rachel Maddow.  It’s no secret that whip-smart wonk makes her little heart go pitter pat.  (Fun fact:  When she isn’t on TV, Rachel dresses just like Jessica Jones.)  I was mistaken, though.  The Punisher is my wife’s one true TV crush.  DareDevil: Season II did such an excellent job of humanizing Frank Castle that my true love actually gasped aloud  while watching, “I love you, Frank Castle.”  More than once.  Like lots…
